WFC Resolution 1

The World Furniture Confederation and its supra national and national member organizations consider that the international trade is a crucial element of the successful development of the furniture industry all over the world. They therefore ask their competent international, supra national and national authorities to work towards the elimination of all import and export tariffs on furniture, parts of furniture and on materials used in the construction of furniture that are produced in respect of the international and national legislations.

WFC Resolution 2

With a view to maintain fair competition worldwide, member companies of the WFC member organizations shall respect, recognize and refrain from interfering with, or in any way or any manner taking unfair advantage of, either directly or indirectly, intellectual property rights ("IPR") owned by any member company of the other WFC member organizations. IPR means rights to any and all intangible assets protectable under the national, supra national and international laws, including WTO regulations.

WFC Resolution 3

The World Furniture Confederation and its members have identified the need for a harmonized standard for the measurement of formaldehyde emissions of panels used in the production of furniture. They ask the International Standards Organization and its members to consider this problem and to work on the harmonization of a practical standard that can be used in different national and supra national legislations.

WFC Resolution 4

The World Furniture Confederation and its members support the use of the ISO 10303-236 as electronic communications standard in the furniture sector. It is an open international standard that will contribute to facilitate the international trade and co-operation. They recommend their members to ask for its integration in their software packages and to suggest its use to their suppliers and customers.
